Bonaire tourism director leaves for Aruba By: Gay Nagle Myers November 23, 2010
The new head of the Aruba Tourism Authority is Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, who will assume the CEO post on Jan. 1.
Asjoe-Croes, an Aruban native, has served as the director of the Tourism Corporation Bonaire since 2005.
During Asjoe-Croes’ tenure in Bonaire, tourism arrivals grew 17%, Continental and Delta commenced service to the island, cruise tourism grew to 250,000 passengers a year and a new website was launched in three languages.
Continuity of policy and programs at Tourism Bonaire will continue following her departure at the end of December.
"Our marketing plans and budgets were presented and approved in October. I feel confident that Bonaire will go into the 2011 peak season with a strong market presence unimpeded by the search for my successor," Asjoe-Croes said.
