Caribbean Helicopters has announced plans to expand operations in hopes of increasing air travel between Antigua & Barbuda and neighbouring islands.

Director Neil Dickinson said while the company has been focusing on integrating two aircraft into its operations in recent months, many more developments are in the framework for the company.
“We are looking at expanding the fleet in the next six months… we have bought two aircraft and we’re looking to buy another two in the not too distant future,” he said.

The company reportedly bought two eight-seat Piper Navaho Chieftain PA 31-350 craft, for their sleek design, executive layout and speed. While the director did not divulge the total cost of the craft, he said they cost “a considerable amount of money.”

The company owner said, primarily, focus will be placed on charter flights to satisfy the market for easier inter island travel and supplement the flight schedules of other carriers operating within the region.

Dickinson said the next step for the aviation company will be, “connecting Antigua to Nevis directly,” which is an agreement that is expected to be finalised today.
