Tiara Air back again between Aruba and Curaçao
Mon, Apr 11th, 2016

WILLEMSTAD

This morning the airport here in Curaçao was host to a great accomplishment of the Aruba airline Tiara Air.

According to the airline they now meet all the requirements to be in the air again. That means that except for Tuesdays, every day there are 36 more seats available on the route Aruba – Curaçao.

Tiara Air went through some financially tough times and had to suspend all its flights. It seems now that those problems are a thing of the past. The company did not provide information, but their Shorts 360 aircraft landed smoothly this morning at the Curaçao Airport.

The airline is headquartered in Ariba and began operations in 2006. They operated flights to Bonaire, Colombia, Curaçao, USA and Venezuela. The fleet consisted back then of the Shorts 360 and Boeing 737 for commercial flights and they also had a Learjet 35 for ambulance and private operations. It is not clear if they still have the Boeing 737 and the Learjet.

According to the airline they were affected by the issues around the Venezuela currency crisis.
