The last fabulous dive Expedition
offered by FantaSea Island
Expeditions was to the Caribbean
island of Dominica (the island of Dominica, between Martinique and Guadeloupe, and NOT
the Dominican Republic).
A previous dive Expedition offered
by FantaSea Island Expeditions was to the MALPELO AND COCOS ISLANDS on
February 13 25, 2001.
This particular trip was not for
beginning divers, as there were strong currents. However it was suitable for intermediate
divers as there were good crew and safety divers along, including Martha!
This trip included STAN WATERMAN,
the well-known underwater film maker Martha often travels with. The boat was the "SEA
HUNTER", a 115-foot, large and very comfortable ocean-going live-aboard dive
boat. This boat was used for the IMAX filming of "THE SHARKS OF COCOS" by
Howard Hall.
These islands are in the remote
Pacific, 40 hours by boat off Costa Rica. The diving is world renowned, with large schools
of hammerheads and pelagic life.
In 2006 an expedition to Tahiti was
enjoyed in February of 2006, then to the Cayman Islands in July.
